2026 European Prize for Urban Public Space — Finalist
Parco della Pace in Vicenza has been selected as one of the five finalists of the European Prize for Urban Public Space 2026, promoted by the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB). The project, developed by Martí Franch Batllori EMF, Studio Franco Zagari, ITS Engineering Company and PAN Associati, was selected from 381 entries submitted from 38 European countries.
The International Jury recognised Parco della Pace as a significant example of the transformation of a large disused infrastructure: Vicenza’s former airport has been converted into a 65-hectare ecological park, where nature-based solutions integrate water management, biodiversity restoration and the creation of new collective spaces.
The project will compete alongside the other four finalists, with the winner to be announced on 15 October 2026 in Barcelona, at the CCCB.
